Campaign Manager - Campaign Manager (Silverlight)

Gauge

Use the Gauge tool to display a single value in relation to a predefined range.

Much like a fuel gauge, it can show when a column value is in danger of reaching a critical point, perhaps where a product offering is reaching a stage where it is no longer profitable.

When you have configured the data you want to display on the gauge, as described below, you can use the functions on the Gauge tab to customize the appearance of the gauge.

Procedure

  1. Drag the Gauge tool to the Workspace from the Tools pane.
Note: You cannot drag-and-drop columns from the Data Explorer, you must flip the gauge over to configure it.

  1. Name: Add an optional name. This will not appear on the gauge but is used to identify it when linking with other documents.
  2. Report Source: This is the standard report configuration screen that is used when configuring most Campaign Manager report types. The measure area is the only one that is applicable to the gauge. One or more measures can be added in the standard way, with filters applied if required.
  3. Measure: Select the required measure from those created in the previous step.
  4. Minimum and Maximum: You will need to enter minimum and maximum data points for the gauge to display. This excludes outliers and focuses the gauge on a specific range. You can enter fixed values, for example 21 to 65, or you can enter a percentage of a selected measure - so if your calculated measure is a value of 100 then a minimum of 10% would be 10 and a maximum of 200% would be 200.
  5. Show ranges: This option allows you to specify the colored ranges that are displayed on the gauge. By default there are three ranges - you specify the middle one and the ones on either side are created automatically
  6. Gauge Title: This is the title that will appear above the gauge. It is not the document name, which will be specified if the gauge is saved.

As above, you can specify the range using fixed values, or percentages of the selected measure.
