DAO importerThe DAO Importer uses the Microsoft DAO API to access a data source. In order for this importer to operate correctly, MDAC 2.5 or greater must be installed. The DAO importer is supplied principally for backwards compatibility with the ODBC wizard that was shipped with suite 2.3. Any existing iLoader scripts that reference the ODBC wizard will now be processed by the DAO importer. Click the Connection Information browse button to open the DAO Import Wizard.
The DAO importer supports connection via an ODBC DSN or a Jet file name (e.g. Access.mdb file). FileIf you are connecting to a file, click on this button and navigate to the file you require. When a file is selected, the path must be specified relative to the server context (currently this is relative to whatever machine hosts (Undefined variable: Variables.ProductName)). DSNIf you are connecting via a DSN connection, click on this button and enter the relevant values in the Connection String screen.
DSNSelect from one of the data sources in the drop-down list. UIDEnter the user ID. PasswordEnter the password DatabaseEnter the database name DriverSelect a driver from the drop-down list. This is only activated when you select None in the DSN field. ServerEnter the server name. Click OK to enter the details in the DAO Import Wizard screen, Connection String or Filename field. Data may then be selected from a particular table or using an SQL query. Click on the Refresh button before selecting a table from the drop-down list. Query TimeoutThis allows you to set a time limit on how long a query can take before being abandoned. Click on OK to enter the details into the Import Wizard screen. Click on the Generate button to enter the script details into the Control file. |
