Campaign Manager - Campaigns
|
Note: | Variables can only be created in Variable Manager, located in the Campaign Manager application- select Campaign Manager from the navigation panel on the left of the screen. See the 'Variable Manager' section of this online help for full details.). The variables in Campaign View are global, which means they are available for use in any campaign. |
Once a Global Variable has been created, it can be used in any campaign and will consistently report on values within the creative or output, as part of the Campaign history data capture process. For some variable usage, the marketer may have a number of variable values that will need to be applied multiple times across the flow of a campaign and to avoid repeated manual input, these values can be set up in a Pick list.
If that pick list is consistent across all campaigns, a global pick list can be created, but if the values only apply to the specific campaign, and indeed if another campaign requires a new pick list with different values, the option of local Pick Lists is ideal in this scenario.
This feature allows the construction of the pick list values for a global variable, but with a local scope, so your pick list is only visible to you in this campaign. Another great feature is that this will also allow new pick list values to be added, or old values to be removed, while the campaign is still active.

- Either open an existing campaign in Campaign View, or create a new campaign by clicking the New Campaign button in Campaign View. Note that if opening a new campaign, it must be saved before a pick list can be added
