Export Sections From Venn as SegmentsWith a Venn Insight, it is possible to extract intersections as segments. These segments can be saved to the Segment Library and used as required elsewhere.
You can select Venn sections in one of two ways, click on a section in the diagram or tick the check box next to the section in the grid. These options are linked, so clicking on the section in the diagram will tick the corresponding check box in the grid and vice versa. To deselect a section, click on it again or clear the check box next to it. In the diagram, for sections that have been selected, the border will turn from white to black:
Multiple sections can be selected and exported as a single segment, see below. The remainder below the diagram can also be selected and exported as a segment or part of a segment if required. You can select all sections in the grid by ticking the check box in the header of the check box column:
Once at least one section is selected, the Export To Library button becomes available on the toolbar:
Click this button to export the selected sections. The Save As screen will be displayed. Select the location to save the segment, enter a name for the segment and a description to help identify the segment, the description is optional. Once saved, the segment can be selected and used wherever applicable in the system. If required the segment can be modified by opening it in Segment Builder. Export Multiple SectionsIt is possible to click on multiple sections in the Venn and export them as a single segment. Click on a section to select it, and repeat for all required sections. If you click on a selected section again it will be unselected. Alternatively, tick all the required check boxes in the grid.
In this case, within the resultant segment, each section will be added as an 'Include If Any' group, separated by an 'Or' operator. Initially groups will be in the order that the sections were selected in the Venn. As can be seen, those intersections not included in the extracted set are Exclude Groups seen below in red.
If the calculations are run, it can be seen that the counts for each group correspond to the counts displayed in the Venn.
