Variable Comparisons

Use the Campaign Variable tool to compare variables within a track.

For example, using an If Branch you could check the value of Variable A against the value of Variable B for each recipient in a campaign track and then perform one action if the values match, and another if they do not.

Procedure

1. Add an If Branch tool to your Track.
2. Drag the Campaign Variables tool into the Filter area:

3. Select your first variable from the Variable drop-down.
4. Click the icon to activate the column selector .
5. Click into the Enter Column Name field to display the generic selector.
6. In the bottom left corner of the selector click the New link.
7. In the Create new menu, select the Campaign Variable tool and click Create.
8. Select the second variable that you want to use in your comparison from the drop-down list containing all local and global variables. This completes the comparison setup.
9. You can then populate the If branches with actions:
