Campaign Manager - Campaign Manager (Silverlight)

Selecting N records from every distinct value of X

Use this option when you want to return only one record (N) per distinct value of X, without applying any filtering to the records returned.

For example, sending one direct mail catalogue to a household regardless of how many customers reside at that address.

On N per X select One per Household ID from the Customer table:

Campaign Manager will select the first record for each House hold by table order as default.

Using N records from every distinct value of X in Filter and Cell rows

Click in the N/X cell in the Filter or cell row to change N per X processing to one of the following:

  • Off: No N per X processing procedures occur.
  • Pass On: If N per X is set at Filter level the N per X excluded records will pass to the next Filter row. If no filter rows exist the balance is excluded. If N per X is set at Cell level the N per X excluded records are passed to the next row, regardless of the row type. If the cell is the last row in the grid, then the balance is excluded.
  • Exclude: Any records excluded will immediately be removed from the entire campaign and further Filters or cells will not select those recipients. Note that the exclusion applies only to records that qualify for that row. For example a house hold that has 2 Females and 1 Male and has a row criteria of "=Female", with a selection 1 per X, will only remove one of the Females. The Male will continue to be included as they have not qualified for that row.
