Designing The Campaign

Log in to Campaign Manager and create a Twitter Omni tactic.

Procedure

  1. In Campaign Manager, on the Creative tab, select 'Twitter' from the Creative drop-down.
  2. In the Creative definition drop-down, select the external agent you have already created (in Settings).
  3. If no parameter is displayed, click Refresh Agent.
  4. The name in the Creative parameters panel will match the name specified in the Alterian.creativeui.xxxx field.

  1. Enter the message you want to send to your chosen Twitter followers.
  2. On the Fields tab, select the Data Value and the column name that contains your followers' IDs, for example, 'TweeterID'. This will send the Tweet to all customers whose TweeterID you have that follow you.
  3. Finish setting up the rest of the campaign as required. A file is created under the path specified in the PostTweets variable. This file indicates whether the Tweets have been successful or not. Keep in mind the limits for Tweeting.

Results

Select the Direct messages option in Twitter to view Tweets posted via Campaign Manager. Select a user from the list to display the messages sent to that user.
