Campaign Document ownership relates to all campaign documents saved within Campaign Manager. It ensures that a campaign will always run under the user name defined as the Document Owner so that the audience can clearly be controlled, based on any Engine security applied to that user, and also the output format of data such as dates based on the Campaign Owners user Culture.
Campaign Manager will advise users that they are taking ownership of a campaign document by displaying the following message:
This message is received when one of the following takes place:
When starting a Campaign you are not currently Document Owner of.
Manually starting a Campaign that is in a Paused state.
If a user clicks Yes they will become the document owner.
If a user clicks No the Campaign Owner does not change and the Campaign does not start.
Please note that if your permissions are different from the existing Campaign Owner then this may result in the Campaign not reaching its intended audience.
